A WRECKED car which has been left abandoned behind a York pub for weeks has now become the subject of vandalism and an arson attack.
A fire crew was called out at 6am on Sunday to attend to the Volvo 304 behind the Flying Legends, Stirling Road, Clifton Moor, which had been set alight.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "The entire car was severely damaged."
It was believed the fire was started by youths.
Mark Eccles, relief manager at the Flying Legends, said: "It's been there for ages and kids are trashing it every night.
"Nobody has done anything about it."
A spokesman for City of York Council said: "We have had no reports of this particular car.
"We are sending someone to have a look and if this vehicle is on public land we will deal with it."
