A MAN has been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving after an accident which left two people dead near Harrogate.
The accident happened on the B6451, Harrogate to Otley road, on Friday, at about 4pm.
A silver Volvo was involved in a head-on collision with a red Mitsubishi Coupe travelling in the opposite direction.
The Volvo was then struck by a Peugeot 405 travelling towards Otley.
The passenger in the Mitsubishi, Anthony Pickles, aged 29, from Harrogate died at the scene, along with the passenger in the Volvo, Joan Bullock, 81, of Carr Manor Drive, Leeds.
The driver of the Volvo sustained minor injuries and the driver of the Peugeot was not injured.
