I AM appalled that under proposals in the Home Secretary's new Sexual Offences Bill, cottaging (sex in public toilets) will no longer be a criminal offence.
Parents have always been fearful of allowing their children to enter public lavatories alone. Now they will have even more cause for concern.
Cottaging is offensive to most of us. It leaves the lavatories unsafe and squalid. We have the right to use these facilities for the purpose for which they are provided without fear of encountering unpleasant sights and sounds.
Are we to be required to queue even longer while cubicles are occupied by cottagers? It is time this Government stopped pandering to minorities at the expense of the majority.
