AUSTRALIAN finger-picking guitarist Tommy Emmanuel plays Oak House, the Pocklington Civic Arts Centre, on Thursday, March 6 at 8pm.
Emmanuel, who performed at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, has received a Grammy nomination and played with the likes of Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Bill Wyman and Hank Marvin.
His repertoire embraces Lennon and McCartney, American Dixie, modern jazz and his own Aboriginal-inspired compositions, and his playing has prompted fellow guitarist Chet Atkins to say: "I think he's probably the greatest finger-picker in the world today. You can't watch Tommy perform and not feel happy."
Tickets cost £11, concessions £10, on 01759 301547.
