BRIDGE-BUILDING talks are to take place between GPs and the Selby and York Primary Care Trust (PCT) management after the sudden resignation of trust chairwoman Janet Looker.
Chief executive Dr Sue Ross and acting chairwoman Wendy Bundy are to visit surgeries across Selby and York to try to improve relations between the PCT and GPs, who were upset by comments made by City of York councillor Janet Looker.
Dr John Givens, secretary of North Yorkshire Local Medical Committee, said the comments were the last straw and came after two years of dissatisfaction at PCT management which amounted to a "communication disaster."
Now Dr Ross has urged doctors to put the last few weeks behind them in order to build on progress already made.
