I criticised (Evening Press, Saturday, February 15) the public address system and commentator at the York City Knights v Doncaster rugby league game at Huntington Stadium.
Knights chairman Roger Dixon contacted me to say it would cost over £15,000 for an all-singing, all-dancing system, which was beyond the club's means. He added that the club were experimenting to get the sound right for the start of the league season and that the commentator was new to the job.
I also told him that the club's free bus service didn't stop near my home.
Mr Dixon invited me to call him if the sound system was a problem after the next match. I can assure him the sound was much improved and the commentary was faultless.
The bus also made the stop near to my home and I decided to use it. It was on time and I was back home just after 5pm.
It is good to know the club have the fans' interests at heart and are prepared to listen and act upon their concerns. Top service.
