York Cricket Club intends to form a women's cricket team this coming season.
Arrangements are already in hand to join a league.
Pre-season practice will take place on Saturdays from 10am to noon at York University Sports Centre on March 22, 29, April 6 and 13.
After Easter, practice will be arranged at the club's Clifton Park ground.
The current plan is to start from age 16 upwards and build in a junior section later in the year.
Anyone interested in playing, coaching, umpiring, scoring or helping with administration should contact York CC chairman Chris Houseman on 01904 610258.
