THIS weekend there are some brilliant bands at Fibbers. On Friday (4th), Whole Lotta Led play Led Zeppelin covers in a two-hour show.
Saturday (5th) sees the arrival of Wheatus, who topped the UK charts with Teenage Dirt Bag. They are really entertaining on stage. Sunday (6th) sees Amy Wadge, who has an angelic, breathy voice. She plays a quiet cascade of guitar notes that have earned comparisons with Joni Mitchell and Natalie Merchant.
If you don't like listening to music, then perhaps this will interest you. If you enjoy playing snooker but don't like queuing for the table, you'll love Cue Ball Snooker Centre. You pay by the hour so you can play as many frames as you like until your time runs out. It costs £3.50 an hour plus 50p supplements for non-members and the food and beer are cheap too. Cue Ball Snooker Centre is at 24-25 Alexandra Court, James Street, York and is open from 9am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, and noon to 10.30pm on Sunday.
