BEAMING York pensioner Florence Strickland has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Florence received a telegram from the Queen to mark the occasion.
She was also visited at Fulford Nursing Home by the Lord Mayor of York, Coun David Horton.
Florence moved to Fulford from a home in Haxby and has family in Blackpool and Hampshire.
Home manager Judith Hanner said: "Florence is lovely. She beams at everybody who passes her.
"Although she has poor eyesight and hearing she still participates in the day's events."
