York City Knights player-coach Paul Broadbent will be without four key players for the trip to Dewsbury in the Arriva Trains Cup tomorrow.

Injuries and unavailability has robbed the one-time Challenge Cup winner of Mark Cain, Graeme Hallas, Lee Jackson and Scott Rhodes, leaving the Knights thin on the ground for cover.

As reported in the Evening Press, Hallas and Jackson both join Jonny Firth, Carl Stannard and Matt Blaymire on the long-term absences list, while Mark Cain picked up a knee injury against Sheffield Eagles at the weekend.

Rhodes, however, will be denied the chance to take on his former team-mates just weeks after joining York due to a clause in the deal that brought him to Huntington Stadium saying he would not play against the Rams.

The loss of the quartet means Broadbent will be forced to shuffle his side around, but he will, however, have the services of Alex Godfrey to call on.

The wingman needs a minor hernia operation, but until he is booked in to go under the knife, Godfrey will keep on playing.

Dean Robinson looks likely to come into the starting 13, despite playing with an ankle injury.

Broadbent told the Evening Press: "We have got one or two players out injured so we will have to make a few adjustments. We might have to shuffle positions about.

"The injuries though give the guys who been on the fringes and disappointed about their lack of chances the opportunity to shine."

York City Knights squad (at Dewsbury tomorrow, kick-off 3pm): Smith, Godfrey, Callaghan, Molloy, Beever, Lloyd, Thaler, Krause, Burland, Broadbent, Robinson, Ramsden, Fletcher, Westmoreland, Bolus, Embleton, Hayes.
