A MAN tried to tempt a young girl into his van as she walked along a Knaresborough street.
North Yorkshire Police said the 13-year-old girl was walking along Aspin Lane when she was approached by the man, driving a small white van.
"He made indecent suggestions and tried to entice her into the van," said police spokesman Tony Lidgate.
The man was said to be white, in his 20s or 30s, about 6ft 2in tall and of medium build.
He had mousy, curly, greasy hair and was wearing jeans and a black zip-up jacket.
The incident happened at about 6.30pm on Sunday.
