COLD, clinical but clever, Neon Lights is a glowing example of what can be achieved with aural technical gizmos.

Some LPs really do sound so much better on a personal stereo, which showcases all kinds of technical wizardry sprinkled with disco fairy dust, and this is one of them.

Never mind that Neon Lights is totally void of a well-constructed song, or indeed a strong vocal performance.

Ms Minogue's thin voice is hidden so heavily from over-use of Madonna's spooky vocoder. But that misses the point.

Put The Needle On It, Creep and I Begin To Wonder consist of a hypnotic beat built around a memorable hook, as do all the tracks.

This formula can be irritating in most cases, but Dannii and her producers have delivered a body of work that is strangely motivating. You'll find yourself rushing around the house doing the housework! The extra CD-Rom bit has three marvelous videos of Dannii writhing about seductively, if you could possibly be sat at the PC long enough.
