A YORK drama teacher has been short-listed for a Teacher of the Year award in the National Teaching Awards.
Tina Wright, head of drama at Burnholme Community College, impressed the judges with the range and quality of her work, both in the college and around the city.
The college has won recent curriculum accolades in English and maths, an on-going science project and the specialist business and enterprise college bid is gathering momentum.
Head teacher Tony Gavin said: "This is richly deserved recognition for the incredible work that Tina has produced over many years for Burnholme and the wider performing arts community in York."
