SHERBURN High School are in the pink after beating Manor 2-1 at Bootham Crescent to lift the York Schools Under-16s trophy.

Both teams turned up in orange but Sherburn turned their shirts inside out to enable the game to go ahead.

Having had the lion's share of the play, Manor fell behind midway through the second half to a smartly taken goal by Lenny Mason.

A magnificent finger-tip save by Arran Reid kept Manor in the game and Danny Barrett thumped the Sherburn bar with a 22 yard free kick before Richard Moss blasted in an equaliser in the 82nd minute.

A share of the spoils would have been a fair result, but Chris Thompson exploited the flat-footed Manor defence to snatch victory with just three minutes remaining.

Manor midfielder Tim Heward won the Arriva Trains man of the match award.
