Monster pike

THE biggest pike to be caught at the Cawood Holiday Park Caravan and Camping Centre has been landed by Leeds angler Ruth Stephens.

She hooked the 30lb specimen on trout pellet and special mix using a 5lb line and size 12 hook.

Pike of up to 22lb are relatively common at the two-acre lake, which was established in 1969, but her fish is believed to be the largest ever caught there, said owner Gerry Archer.

It took Stephens nearly 25 minutes to land her catch.
