Humberside police are concerned for the welfare of a 50-year-old man who has not been seen since he left his workplace in York last week.
They believe James Stephen Venney, of Southfield Road, Pocklington, may be suffering from acute stress and would like him to get in touch.
Mr Venney has not been seen since he left work in York last Thursday and although he does not own a car, it is believed he may have travelled to Plymouth.
He is described as a white, six feet tall, with a slim build, blue eyes, short grey hair and a grey, neatly-trimmed beard.
He wears rimless glasses with grey arms and was last seen wearing black shoes, navy blue trousers, a white shirt and a three-quarter length green anorak.
Anyone with information about where Mr Venney may be is asked to phone Pocklington Police on 01759 302174.
