A POWERFUL President's side had too much firepower for Pocklington RUFC as they ran in a 58-19 win.

Wakefield's former Harlequins forward Mick Watson, who has coached Pocklington all season, was in no mood to do his protgs a favour as he went over for the first try wide out after only three minutes.

The President's side kept Pock pinned in their own half to run in further tries from Neil Gilbertson, Roger Johnson, Paul Williams, Neil Spence and Andrew Wilson. Along with two conversions by Dan Clappison, these seemed to have put the President's side out of sight at 29-0.

But 17-year-old three-quarter Brad Bold gave Pock hope when he made long weaving runs either side of the interval only to be thwarted by last-gasp ankle taps.

Immediately the President's side hit back with a length of the field move finished by Richard Wilson and converted by his brother Andrew.

Back came Pocklington with Rob Jackson outstripping the cover to a kick ahead and dive in for the touchdown.

Williams again charged under the posts for a try that Sandy Mitchell converted, and Richard Wilson also scored.

Pock flanker Steve Wilcock blasted over for a brace of tries that Bold converted.

But the President's XV had the final say as Gilbertson went flying over to complete proceedings.
