LEEMAN Road Millennium Green Trust Committee members, from left, Steve Maxwell, Jacqui Clark, Mary Rothery and Irene Storey celebrate the official opening of the green.
Members of the group overcame serious delays and funding shortages to rejuvenate the area, which was once an overgrown mess.
Volunteers worked tirelessly to revamp the six-acre green space, which is now a haven for wildlife such as deer, voles and hedgehogs.
Trust secretary Mary Rothery said: "We're delighted - the green is looking really good. But there is still a lot of work to do."
