Rowntree's batsman Richard Tuite made a career-best 141 not out at Bridlington where both sides' batsmen prospered.
Gerry Capelin supported with 32 in a 109 second-wicket stand as Tuite's tenth league hundred took the York based side to 245-3.
Barry Rudd (69) and Richard Lount (47) then got Brid off to a good start with an opening stand of 93 but Lount's departure opened the way for Hafiz Khalid to run amok as he raced to a superb 111no.
Rudd had helped add 108 for the second wicket before he was dismissed by Paul Horner. But this was a relatively minor setback as the hosts ran out seven-wicket winners with two overs in hand.
Elsewhere in DIVISION TWO, Dringhouses' bowlers toiled at Harrogate, whose Matt Cousen (100) helped to piled up 249-6.
Kev McGuinness (39) and Mick Kenyon (26) scored early-order runs for Dringhouses but Marcus Fox (3-61) caused problems before an unbroken seventh-wicket stand between Scott Jacques (41no) and Ian Bews (38no) saw them to a comfortable draw at 194-6.
At home to Malton & Old Malton, Wilberfoss made 179-7 with Julian Atkinson hitting 57, Geoff Room 32 and Mike Stothard 25 as Danny Foxton took 3-55. Darren Wyrill made 56 before Gary Hall steered Malton to a four-wicket win with an unbeaten 50.
Stillington were whipped out for only 94 at Castleford, whose Andy Hursthouse took 6-31. Castleford struggled to a one-wicket victory.
John McKenzie took 6-53 for Hornsea at Studley Royal to restrict the home side to 149-9, David Prescott then made 72no to help Hornsea to a five-wicket win which keeps them top.
