A first-ever league 50 by Geoff Schofield, who made 73, allied with 56 by skipper Dave Ellis enabled Sheriff Hutton Bridge to reach 237-6 against a ten-man Dunnington side who fell to 94 all out as Rich Carrick took 4-27.

Neighbouring Sheriff Hutton also bagged maximum batting points in DIVISION FOUR when they posted 210-8 against Whitkirk with Tony Hull making 68 and Eddie Hull 44.

Stuart Pickles made 59 and Dave Boucher 37 as the Leeds side replied with 157-7 but victory was never on the cards as Richard Armitage and Simon Thornton bagged three wickets apiece.

Thorp Arch & Boston Spa rattled up the season's highest total at Easingwold where the home bowlers heaved a sigh of relief at a 42-over declaration after Andy Hawkswell 83, Mike Cole 64, Mark Warrilow 53no and Chris McGhee 33 had logged a total of 271-4.

Facing a 48-over session, Easingwold were pointed in the direction of safety when Andy Metcalfe, with 61, and Chris Hull (58) shared a second-wicket alliance of 126. The Cole brothers threatened home prospects as Chris took 3-12 and Mike 3-35 but Easingwold survived on 184-8.

On a day that saw a record 14 centuries scored, Huby's Mike Mierzwinski hit an unbeaten 104 to help his side to 227-2 against Cawood. Dave Patmore added 65 then Hugh Sheddon took 4-42 to leave Cawood reeling at the bottom having been dismissed for 86.

Nick Weatherstone, who made 64, and bowlers John Byford (3-16) and 17-year-old Richard Allman (3-32) took centre stage in Acomb's 91-run win at Londesbrough Park, while Andy Tyres' 36 just tipped the scales for Malton & Old Malton who had a two-wicket win over Osbaldwick for whom Peter Machin made 36no.

It was a record-breaking day for the Selby club who, with their first team making 255-5 declared and their second team hitting 255-7 in DIVISION FIVE, created a new combined record of 510 runs in a day by a club.

Ian Lake fell four short of his century as he and Mark Bowden posted a first-wicket stand of 149 but Bowden went on to complete an unbeaten century, reaching 101no before the declaration.

Selby's hopes of victory were soon blunted as Simon Barton (54) and Ed Willey (41) put on 90 before they were parted. Sean Holmes followed with 39 and Thirsk were able to survive 48 overs to reach 176-7 despite Carl Paterson's 4-39.

Former Huby player Dave Colquhoun hit an unbeaten 108 as he partnered Richard Cattle 52no in an unbroken third-wicket stand of 136 to help Tadcaster Magnet post 213-2 at Rowntrees. The home batsmen then matched their bowlers as they were shot out for 55 in 23 overs with John Reynolds taking 4-19 and John Weatherall 4-12.

Mike Shuttleworth and Ian Gray each made 41 as Sessay made 140-8 against a New Earswick attack in which John Routledge took 5-78.

Jim Easton (3-21) and Keith Till (3-12) bowled Sessay to the top as Earswick were dismissed for 109.

Ian Fraser, with 51no, and Dave King, who made 42, took Stamford Bridge to a six-wicket victory at Hovingham.

Wally Baynes had his second successive six-wicket haul, taking 6-24 as he and Carl Van Neikerk (4-36) whipped Dringhouses out for 70 leaving Huntington to emerge as seven-wicket victors. Darren Graves made 62 in Carlton Towers' 125-8 but he was eclipsed by Simon Hill's 66 in Pocklington's six-wicket win.

Apart from division one leaders Sheriff Hutton Bridge, Bolton Percy II are the only other side to win all their first three games. Hosts Thorp Arch fell to 113 all out as Peter Atkinson took 5-37 in 12 overs.

Bolton lost a wicket with the first ball of their innings but Bill Preacher continued his good run with an unbeaten 51 and John White made 28no as Bolton ran out six-wicket winners.

Selby's Kevin Lund was the division's sole ton-up man when he made 113 at Heslington for whom Paul Clarke took 5-130 as Selby reached an enormous 255-7 to create a new DIVISION SIX record.

Clark then added 46 but Jeff Romans (4-9) and Paul Wadsworth (3-23) had the home side scuppered at 82 all out.

Civil Service, who are experiencing ground problems, found their troubles increasing when they were unable to raise a side for their game at Stillington who got the mandatory 24 points for a conceded game.

Brian Room hit 79 in a Wilberfoss total of 201-9 at Hemingbrough but the home side were more than a match and won by seven wickets after Nigel Ling made 63no, Sabir Khan 45 and Toby Bodycombe 43no.
