VILLAGERS near York are looking forward to an arresting experience next weekend.
St Helen's Church fete, at Wheldrake, on Saturday, will be opened by Sergeant David Williams, of North Yorkshire Police, at 2pm. The force's underwater search unit and a police vehicle will also be there.
Stalls, competitions, musical entertainment and children's fun and games take place at White Rose House, in the Rectory gardens and in the church itself.
Children have entered a competition to paint pictures of what police work involves.
