Selby War Memorial Hospital has received 12 new beds - with a little help from its friends.
A donation of £10,000 from the Friends of Selby War Memorial Hospital was used to cover the cost of the beds, which will be used throughout the hospital in Doncaster Road.
The money was raised by a number of fundraising activities, including the annual summer fair, and through public donations.
Dr Sue Ross, chief executive of Selby and York Primary Care Trust, said: "We are delighted to accept this donation.
"To raise such a large amount of money shows the strength of feeling people in the local community have for the hospital."
