PUPILS enjoyed quad bikes, crafts and games in an attempt to raise money for new school books.

Copmanthorpe Junior School held its spring craft fair on Saturday, incorporating a mix of outdoor activities, plus candle-making, salt dough and honey stalls, a magician and a performance by the school orchestra.

Proceeds will go towards buying new reading materials for the lower school.

Head teacher Judith Rigg said staff and pupils alike worked very hard to make the day a success.

She said: "There was a really nice atmosphere and the weather was in our favour which meant we could have lots of events outside, such as quad bikes for the older children. Everybody had a lot of fun."

The event raised about £2,000.
