SELBY and York Primary Care Trust (PCT) has been recognised for improving the working lives of its staff.
The PCT has been awarded Practice Status as part of the national NHS Improving Working Lives (IWL) initiative.
Improving Working Lives is one of the key themes in the NHS Plan and is one of the targets that all NHS organisations must meet.
Dr Sue Ross, chief executive of the PCT, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded IWL Practice status, it reflects how highly the organisation values staff and their development."
Gary Hardman, director of nursing and workforce development for the PCT, said: "The assessors recognised a number of key achievements, for example, our lone workers' event and the steps taken to help those with children, namely the establishment, with our partner organisations, of a childcare co-ordinator post."
