I AGREE with all your correspondents who have reacted with horror to the news that the Mystery Plays are not to be performed next year, but I cannot agree with Rev Roden in his desire to see the plays performed in the Minster every ten years (Letters, June 17).

The Millennium staging in the Minster was a magnificent, but unique, occasion and should be allowed to remain untainted in the memories of those fortunate enough to have been there. There are many other venues which could be considered, given the right adaptation.
