Chairman Bobby can rule the roost at Hamilton tomorrow. Trained at Scorton, near Richmond, by David Barker, the much-improved North Yorkshire sprinter is bidding for his third win in four outings and his second on at Hamilton.

Chairman Bobby scored a fluent success here three outings ago, which ended his long period as a maiden.

A quick follow-up at Carlisle, again achieved by pillar-to-post tactics, was superceded by an even better effort in defeat at Redcar.

Stepping-up in class, Chairman Bobby failed by only a neck to beat Smart Predator, who franked that form with a sterling effort at Newcastle last Saturday.

Speedfit Free, a winner here last weekend, could prove a danger in the Bobby Jones 90th Birthday Classified Stakes, but Chairman Bobby, with smart apprentice Lee Enstone reducing his weight by 3lb, gets my Nap vote.

Boston Spa-based jockey Dale Gibson has enjoyed a cracking time during the month of the June, and he could well start July on a similar winning note, courtesy of Dr Sharp in the opening race, the George Wimpey Handicap.

A winner on this course last time, having previously scored at Ripon, Dr Sharp, owned and trained by Tom Tate near Tadcaster, is as tough as old boots and is a hard horse to overtake. He should run a big race.

Ian Semple, who did this column a good turn when Mornin Reserves won last Friday's Gosforth Park Cup at Newcastle at 6-1, has good prospects of adding to his score with Millagros in the Clydesdale Bank Classified Stakes.

Millagros was a winner on this course last week and this looks a perfect opportunity for her to complete a quick double, The experienced Derek McGaffin has the mount.

The £12,500 Tote Exacta Handicap takes pride of place as the most valuable race on the Hamilton card.

My preference is for Soaked, David Chapman's evergreen sprinter, who has run two good races in defeat since his latest success.

Cyclonic Storm was a winner on this course earlier in the month and has good prospects of obliging again in the Tote Bookmakers Series Handicap.

Richard Fahey's charge ran well to finish second at Carlisle last Thursday on ground faster than she prefers.

Tomorrow's other meeting is at Brighton, where Sir Mark Prescott has good prospects of completing a double.

The canny Newmarket trainer is fancied to score with Coat Of Honour in the University of Sussex Sports Handicap and Anology in the Chestnut Tree Children's Hospice Handicap. The two horses, both recent winners, will be partnered by Seb Sanders.

Tomorrow's tips:

Hamilton

2.15 Dr Sharp, 2.45 Millagros, 3.15 Soaked, 3.45 Annabel Lee, 4.15 Chairman Bobby (Nap), 4.45 Cyclonic Storm.

Brighton

Tom O'Ryan's Nap for today's racing is Ballyhurry (7.55pm at Musselburgh).
