IT is only since the council installed the raised zebra crossing outside Canon Lee School that water escaping from the beck has caused regular problems on Water Lane ("Downpour brings flooding to streets", July 1).
The speed table design of the crossing traps water into a deceptively deep puddle, which fools motorists into driving into the water and getting stuck.
This problem is largely man-made, the road was made lower to enable the zebra crossing to be a pavement level table-type speed bump.
How about the council coming back and sorting it out before the autumn rains cause more days of misery?
