HAVING been awarded the full eight points by the Oxbridge Yorkshire ECB Premier League committee for last week's cancelled match against Hull, York are sandwiched in second place one point below Scarbor-ough and five above Cleethorpes, who visit York on Saturday.

The Lincolnshire outfit base their game on a strong batting line-up led by the prolific Shane Deitz, who is a regular in the South Australian State team. Backing this up is an all-round pace attack led by Andy Carrington.

York will need to be at their best to prevail and are glad to welcome back off-spinner Dan Broadbent from captaining the England Under 19 side in Holland. He and Dave Catlow replace Mike Mortimer and Will Warne.

On Sunday, York visit old rivals Harrogate for a second round League Cup fixture.

'Gate have shown improved form in recent weeks after a slow start to the season, but York will be keen to sustain their chance of a League and Cup double so a tight contest can be anticipated.

Tom Pringle's leg spin replaces Duncan Snell's pace as the latter is included in the York Senior League Joe Lumb Under 17 squad.
