Draw kings Harrogate gained their first win of the season after drawing ten of their 13 games in division two of Hunters the estate agent York and District Senior League.

They trounced a Dringhouses side which is showing a disturbing decline after an impressive start to the season.

League web-site manager Ian Bews grabbed 6-68 as Harrogate took first innings, but Oliver Hutton lived up to his family name by making an unbeaten 93 to help Harrogate to 191-7.

Hutton's team-mate Kevin Gordon then took centre stage as his 6-25 had the home side falling to 91 all out, only Danny Snaith (28no) resisting.

Malton and Old Malton moved into second place despite being frustrated by the last two Wilberfoss batsmen, who were able to hold out for a draw as their lowly side had to face an extra three overs because of Malton's declaration.

Skipper Neil Johnson top-scored for Malton with 75, while valuable support came from Danny Foxton, who added 53 in a total of 211-4 before the declaration was made after 42 overs.

When the divisional strugglers replied, Dave Bradshaw claimed 5- 25 in 13 overs, but neither he nor his fellow bowlers could get the final breakthrough as Wilberfoss held on at 102-9.

Rowntree skipper Paul Horner ploughed a lone furrow as his side pruned Bridlington's promotion bid by holding out for a draw at Mille Crux.

The late arrival of Bridlington caused a delayed start, but the captains and umpires agreed to play the full 90 overs.

Bridlington made 160-9, Hafiz Khalid leading the way with 48, while Matthew Adams assisted with 32, but the first half honours were taken by Horner, who claimed 6-72.

Horner saw his side slump to 21-4 as Glen McHale (4-45) gained success, but he found an adequate ally in Mike Shirley who, on his first outing of the season, played the longest innings of the day.

He scored 20 off 89 balls and, with Horner making 30, Rowntree were able to bank 11 points by reaching 125-8.

Bottom-placed Stillington could net only six points as they lost to fellow strugglers Castleford by four wickets.

Stillington seem certain to suffer relegation for a second successive season as they are now 66 points behind tenth-placed Castleford.

Stillington were able to make a decent score of 155 as Chris Manson made 49, Wayne Linton 42 and Dave Herbert 32 as Mick Bourke claimed 4-54.

Eddie Rosa then led Castleford's reply with 68 and, despite Linton taking 3-52, the Savile Park side won by four wickets.
