High drama graced a brace of Horwath Pulleyn-Heselton first division games which were decided on the last ball.

North Duffield entertained Ovington who put 52 on for the first wicket when batting first. However, tight bowling from Lee Wild led Ovington to collapse to 93 all out.

In Duffield's reply, Dave Brummitt then took centre stage dismissing three batsmen and the odds looked in favour of Ovington when he bowled the last over with the hosts needing eight runs.

But they were duly notched by opener Dave Bielby, whose four off the penultimate delivery sealed victory.

Another enthralling game saw Bi-shopthorpe entertain Askham Bryan.

Batting first, the home side scored 164-7 as Glynn Botterill bagged four wickets for the visitors.

It was Botterill who steered Askham home off the last ball after Andy Sturdy smashed a decisive 86.

Stockton and Hopgrove posted a respectable score of 169, but 28 overs later Glenn Hunter (51no) and Ray Adamson (88no) won the game for Burn.

Westow smashed nine-man British Sugar to all parts, settling on 299-6, of which Rob Kellock top-scored with 107. The reduced Sugar ranks were all out for a spirited but modest 126.

The division two match of the day saw Kelfield produce the goods in style against Copmanthorpe. Cop had first knock with John Hughes top-scoring on 70 while Andy Atkinson returned 4-24.

Kelfield overhauled the target with seven overs to go and nine wickets intact inspired by Phil Smith (66no) and Steve Schofield (61no).

Fulfordgate are still in touch with the leaders after beating Hirst United by 47 runs.

Keith Pepper provided 96 of 'Gate's 201-7, while their opponents were always behind the clock as they finished on 154-6.

Wistow lost their first division three game against fellow high-fliers Stillingfleet. Paul White top-scored for Wistow with 51, but a score of 137-7 was passed with ease by boundary-hungry Chris Woodfine (58no) and Wayne Livsey (65no) for 'Fleet's ten-wicket win.

Malton and Old Malton had a resounding win over Askham Bryan YPO. Batting first, Alistair Blacklee and Adam Tildsley shared a 122-run opening stand to underpin a 207-4 total before YPO were scattered for 33 all out.

Woodhouse Grange entertained Clifton Alliance, who posted a target of 102 after being held in check by veteran Doug Bartle's inspired haul of 5-6. However, no Grange batsman had an answer to John Thornton and finished 14 runs short.

Drax took maximum points at Selby in their division four duel.

Big hitting by Richard Ounsley and Paul Smith took Drax to 189-6. Ounsley then dominated with the ball by taking 5-12 as Selby slumped to 72 all out.

Burn dropped to second after defeat to York enabling Bishopthorpe to go top despite losing by 29 runs to Acomb. Chasing 130, Bishopthorpe faded apart from number ten batsman Dave Stead, who top-scored with 24.

Tadcaster remain undefeated after disposing of Wheldrake by six wickets to stay top of division five.

Just behind are Copmanthorpe, who claimed 30 points against Selby. Selby captain Terry Smith tried his best but his 7-35 was not backed up as Cop still posted 175. When Simon Whitehead was removed for 39, the Selby innings fell away to 133.
