WHAT cheek of John Barnwell in continuing to criticise York City's decision to replace the manager's role by a player/managers role.
Of course it was done for financial reasons. He should bear in mind that difficult decisions of this kind in saving the club from extinction have safeguarded employment for numerous players and staff.
Get into reality football John. The gravy train is over and football can no longer support managers' excessive and highly lucrative wages and benefits. Nor can it afford the old boy roundabout network of moving from job failure to job failure, always at high reward - and always at the expense of the fans who provide the grass roots income for our beautiful game.
