Malton and Norton Golf Club were today hailing a belting brace in the thunder-hit Yorkshire Masters tournament at Fulford GC.

Professional Steve Robinson and his assistant Mark Winterburn were among the four winners of the event, which had to be trimmed from 36 to 31 holes after a thunderstorm deluged the Heslington-based course.

The Malton and Norton duo each posted 119, a score matched by Wortley's Richard Crawshaw and Darren Leng (Brough). As the light faded badly it was decided not to have a four-way play-off but for the quartet to share the title and prize money.

Knaresborough GC assistant Andrew Turner was two shots off the pace on 121 with Knaresborough professional Gary Vickers two shots further back. Selby pro' Nick Ludwell carded 124, one ahead of Pannal's Dave Padgett.
