BARRY Noble notched 180 for 17 darts, followed by 180 for 18, for Slipper in their York Unique-Phoenix League division one encounter with Clifton.

Noble's effort against Martyn Turner (21) levelled the scores at 2-2. However, Graham Sanderson (22 and 16) secured the win for Clifton before Martin Waddington (21) took the final game against Tony Noble who included a maximum and 20 darts.

Paul Botterill (100 finish for 21) and Mick Willsden gamed on 84 for 18, plus 21 darts, were Shepherd's two point-scorers as Sun Inn had three players hammering a maximum each. Chris Thompson hit the first in the team game, followed by Dave Gibbons and Tony Cooper in their pairs games. Thompson also chipped in with 18 and 20-dart legs.

Pete Leake, with a brace of 22-darters, wrapped up the win and Kev O'Hara included a 120-check in the team game against Acomb, whose Stu Morton closed in fine 19 and Mike Harris 180 for 17.

Mitre 'A' eased their relegation worries with a whitewash of Rose and Crown whose Andy Carruthers (18) put in the best resistance. A 180 from Dave Binks and a 20-darter from John Smith were Mitre's best.

Two maximums from Cygnet 'B's Paul Cooper won their match at Bishopthorpe, whose Tony Raymond registered a 180 and Arthur Conyers added a 21 darter.

In division two, a 20 from Mark Hartley and 21 from Sean Robinson inspired Phoenix 'A' to a 6-1 win against Boot and Shoe whose Stuart Jackson scored their only point. Alice Hawthorn had Chris Hall scoring the tons in 21 and 19 darts, then James Allen (20) supporting well in their 6-1 win against Holgate, whose Pete West was their solitary point scorer.

Blacksmith's Arms found themselves 3-1 down against Phoenix 'B' before taking the remainder with Tony Brown closing in 21. Janet Hall-Ron Kitchen took Sun Inn's only point at Mitre 'B'.

Darren Bailey gamed on 115 to gain the extra point for Phoenix in their York Phoenix Open League division one match at Howden.

Bailey had earlier secured the win with Mike Harris recording Howden's only singles success.

Pack led 4-2 after the singles before Dave and Ken Smith sealed the win over Mount 'A', whose Chris Manners and Nick Harteveld did well.

Sam Pearson (22) got Mitre on the scoresheet, but Daz Gray (17) and Paul Dix on (20) signalled the Volunteer comeback, taking the match 7-2, while John Miller stood out for Cygnet in their comfortable win at Woodman.

Division two leaders Leeman had Roger Pirrie gaming in an excellent 19 darts to lead his team to a 6-3 victory against Huntington 'A'.

Frank Cartin opened Three Cranes' account only for Hospital Social Club to take the next five, while Pip Hair's two-dart 80 finish inspired Huntington 'B' to take the remaining six games and the match.

Ebor's promotion hopes were boosted with a fine 7-2 home win to Clarence. Brent Conland shone for Ebor.

In division three, Burton were 3-3 with Crescent before the latter took the pairs to wrap up the win and the extra point.

Chris Wilson stood out for Falcon in their 6-3 win over Bishopthorpe SC, while Reindeer came away with a narrow 5-4 win at Mount 'B'.
