FARAWAY LADY should be kept at close quarters by punters at Redcar tomorrow.

Trained at Newmarket by Luca Cumani, the three-year-old filly has been on a high since being stepped-up in distance and the successful completion of a hat-trick looks very much on the cards in the Redcar Cricket Club Handicap over two miles.

Faraway Lady got off the mark at Beverley last month and has since scored handsomely by ten lengths at Yarmouth. She still looks to be one step in front of the handicapper, and she makes stacks of appeal tomorrow. Her odds will be skinny, but she is worthy of the nap vote.

Smirfys Systems, a runaway winner at Thirsk recently, is fancied to gain back-to-back victories in the National Festival Circus is Here Handicap.

Mark Brisbourne's charge overcame a low draw at Thirsk to win by two-and-a-half lengths from Sharp Hat and although the handicapper has hiked him up for that marked improvement in form, he is taken to follow-up.

Brisbourne also has a great chance with Pavement Gates, a winner at Haydock on Thursday, in the East Cleveland Advertisers Handicap.

The featured £12,000 Tote Credit Club Nursery Showcase provides Mind Alert with a good opportunity to open his account.

Gelded after his first three outings this season, Tim Easterby's youngster shaped well on his comeback here recently to chase home Peak To Creek, a winner again since at Chester. Seb Sanders takes the mount tomorrow.

The consistent Apache Point, a previous course winner, looks sure to go well in the Funfair Is Here Today Classified Stakes.

At Windsor, Sheriff Hutton-based jockey Kevin Darley can make his long Sunday journey worthwhile by landing the £14,000 Ian Hutchinson Memorial Conditions Stakes aboard Baltic Wave, trained by David Barron at Maunby, near Thirsk.

Twice a winner this season, Baltic Wave ran well under top-weight in a nursery at Newmarket last time out. He could well have too much class for his rivals here.

Kindlelight Debut, who is nothing if not consistent, has a fighting chance in the Harpoon Louies-Windsor Fillies' Handicap, while Frascati, who looks to be returning to form, could be the one to be on in the Come Racing Again Tomorrow Night Handicap.

Tomorrow's other meeting is at Leicester, where Norton trainer Andy Turnell has good prospects of continuing the belated return to form he showed when saddling a double at Ayr recently with Arjay in the Lillian Prime Memorial Handicap.

Willie Supple's mount lost no caste in defeat when second to Market Avenue in a falsely-run race at Beverley last time. He should find things panning out better for him on this occasion.
