DELEGATE, who rolled back the years to win at Brighton last week, makes a quick reappearance at the seaside course tomorrow and has every chance of producing a repeat victory.

Now a ten-year-old, the Neville Callaghan-trained gelding is largely used as a lead-horse at home these days, but he proved on his latest start that he can still raise a fine gallop.

Producing a whirlwind finish over this extended five furlongs last Thursday, he gained a thrilling photo-finish success in the hands of Ryan Moore.

Moore will again be in the saddle in tomorrow's Betfair Classified Stakes when Delegate gets another opportunity to confirm that, though he may be getting older, he's not getting any slower.

Trainer Roger Charlton and jockey Richard Hughes, who suffered a disappointing reverse in Ireland yesterday, can land the Betfair Fillies' Handicap with the promising Celtic Truth.

Lightly-raced, Celtic Truth looks a decent prospect in the making, judged on her all-the-way win in a Windsor maiden race. This handicap looks an ideal target for her as she bids to provide Charlton and Hughes with a win following the shock defeat of Three Valleys in the Phoenix Stakes at The Curragh.

The runaway Royal Ascot winner could finish only third to One Cool Cat, trained by Aidan O'Brien, but was later reported by Charlton to have "mucus in his lungs," after an examination by the course vet.

Celtic Truth apart, Hughes has some other fancied mounts tomorrow, including Fletcher in the Betfair Claiming Stakes.

Hughie Morrison's old-timer suffered severe interference in a ladies' race at Salisbury on his latest start and has since had a couple of months off. From a stable in form, he should go well in this modest company and is awarded the nap vote.

The promising Intimate Friend, trained by Barry Hills, could be another Hughes-ridden winner in the Betfair Maiden Auction Fillies' Stakes.

In the opening Betfair Selling Handicap, American Cousin, should not be overlooked.

The eight-year-old has not won for some time, but it is significant that North Yorkshire trainer David Nicholls has sent him on the long journey to Brighton for this modest contest.

Over the sticks at Newton Abbot, the in-form Alakdar looks poised to complete a hat-trick in the Renault Clio Van Handicap Chase, while Dantie Boy is fancied to bounce back from a fall last month to land the Renault Handicap Chase.
