MY friend Lucy, who is partially sighted and wheelchair bound, and I were in Whitby on July 31. We needed to board the tour bus which had a "high" entry.
Strolling by the bus were three young naval officers.
I asked for help to get my friend on to the bus. With cheerful good nature, and courtesy, they lifted my friend, and with dignity, settled her into a seat.
If these young men are an example of the navy breed, then we civilians are well catered for. They left the scene with our grateful thanks.
