CHRIS Thompson showed nerves of steel, recording 180 for 18 to seal the win for Sun Inn in York Unique-Phoenix League division one against Bishopthorpe SC.

Sun had one 3-2 up through a 104 finish from Shaun Day, then Dave Gibbons (19) was defeated by Arthur Conyers in superb 17 and 21-dart legs to set up the decider, which Thompson took to preserve his team's unbeaten record.

Cygnet 'A' were on the rack against Slipper, who opened up a 3-1 lead with Barry Noble in brilliant 13-dart form, followed by 21 darts. Dave Mason got Cygnet back into the match, then an excellent 14 darts from Kev O'Hara levelled. A fine 86-bull finish from Jack White took Cygnet to victory.

A 19-darter from Martyn Turner was best for Clifton in their narrow 4-3 win over Mitre 'A', while maximums from Rose & Crown's Matt Ford and Ged McMahon (18 & 20) inspired them to victory over Shepherd SC, whose Mick Willsden included an 81-bull finish for 21. Paul Botterill hit a maximum.

In division two, Phoenix extended their lead at the top with a resounding 7-0 win over Old Ebor. Mark Hartley's 18 and 23 dart legs ensured the win, while second-placed Alice were taken to the wire by Mitre 'B' with James Allen taking the vital last game.

Blacksmith's Arms were 3-1 down at Holgate before Dan Tait and Keith Elliott squared. Tom Hair wrapped up the win with a superb 120 finish to keep his team in touch with the leaders.

Winning Post record an important win at New York Club 'A' in the York White Rose Ladies League division one match.

A fine 20-darter from Ann Robinson sealed the last game win to ease Post's relegation worries, while Maureen Tindall gave New York 'B' a 3-1 lead before Rosie Blower secured the win.

Cath Gascoyne led the Slipper charge, then Rose O'Bee wrapped up the win against Fulfordgate, whose Karen Reasbeck notched a 23-darter.

In division two, Judith Start was Tap's last game matchwinner against Alice, while Sylvia Quinn was the sole point-taker as Tap lost 6-1 to Collingwood.

Alice took the first four and the win against Nelson, whose Val Morley did well.

Pam Walker stood out for division three Bay Horse (Tad) in their win at Bowling Club, while Diane Sanderson guided Acomb to a narrow win over Nelson 'B'.

Carol Perrett closed on 104 (18, T20, D13) as Phoenix were tied on 3-3 at Clifton in York John Smith's Ladies League division one. The visitors cleaned up in the pairs for a 6-3 result.

Angie Hields hit a maximum and Cue Ball 'B' colleague Tracey Farmeary hit 3x100 as they polished off Slipper 7-2.

Cue Ball 'C' lost 6-3 to Cygnet 'A' whose Dawn Exton hit the tons.
