I agreed in principle with your article 'Suing me, suing you must stop' (August 6).

Unfortunately, this country has already gone down the same road as America, with one small diversion - it is cheaper in this country to settle out of court than to litigate.

Therefore solicitors are going to carry on laughing all the way to the bank.

I am also at a loss to understand the Evening Press's stand on this because your campaign to close the gap at Bilbrough is no different in principle to "compensation culture". You both set out to pass the blame on to innocent parties while absolving the guilty/stupid/criminal perpetrators.
