PERHAPS Julian Cole should have more faith in the good sense of York councillors ('Oh no, not more flats', August 14).
At the planning committee meeting where the proposed demolition and redevelopment of Burton Croft was reviewed, the members decided almost unanimously to throw out the application.
Hopefully, this may signal a realisation that the indiscriminate development of every nook and cranny of our city in the name of profit cannot be allowed to continue unchecked, and that our elected representatives are the ones to deal with this. Well done.

Clifton, York.
