IT would seem that Mrs Starzynski and Mr Lindsay (Letters, August 15) in their round-the-clock surveillance, have come across one or two rogue drivers on the Osbaldwick bus route. In my experience most of the drivers have been good and careful.
Not all the bus passengers want to travel through to the terminus, nor even as far as Tranby Avenue where the residents also experience diesel fumes, although possibly more concentrated, because the houses are closer to the road than most of those along Murton Way.
When the buses pass along Tranby Avenue they do not rattle the plates on the cooker in my kitchen, as the concrete-mixing lorries did when they regularly used the avenue before the link road was built, for which local residents successfully campaigned.
C Wileman,
Tranby Avenue,
Osbaldwick, York.
