WITH York not in action, Selby II closed the gap at the top of division six to 38 points with a strolling win over Wilberfoss.
Wilberfoss were blown away for 39 when Selby veteran Jim Barr stormed in with 6-27 and John Rowbottom backed him with 3-12. Gary Wright made 25no in Selby's subsequent nine-wicket win.
Bolton Percy are poised to claim the second promotion place should Selby lose out after beating Londesbrough Park by seven wickets. Ben Eagling was the only Londesbrough batsman to prosper, making 45 in his side's 125-9 as Dale Sanders claimed 3-22 and Henry Houseman 3-26. After losing three wickets fairly cheaply, Stuart Rogerson, with 60no, and John Lawrenson (34no) took Bolton to victory.
Hemingbrough's bid for a promotion place ran aground at Cawood, whose John Gibson played a prominent part in a three-wicket win by taking 5-30 and then making 26no. Hemingbrough were dismissed for 100. Mal Walker had Cawood rocking with 5-32 but Richard Taylor (24no) joined Gibson in a decisive unbroken eighth-wicket stand.
