YORK Leeper Hare League premier division champions Pocklington made a dramatic comeback in their home game against Dringhouses with a last-minute goal snatching a 4-4 draw.

Pock hit the Dringhouses woodwork in the opening minutes but the visitors broke clear to take an early lead through Lee Atkinson, who then made it 2-0 when he converted a penalty. Andy Barkway headed their third on the half-hour mark.

Dringhouses' midfield had dominated the game in the first half with Atkinson in outstanding form but a lapse of concentration let in Neil Durkin to pull one back for Pocklington just before the break.

Pocklington pressed forward as the second-half got underway but Atkinson caught them on the break when he lobbed the keeper from wide on the left to increase Dringhouses' lead. With half an hour to go Atkinson was substituted and this signalled a dramatic turn of fortune for Pock who swarmed forward and were rewarded when Mike Murr netted from close range.

Baz Gargett put a low shot under the keeper to make it 4-3 with ten minutes remaining and Pock were celebrating after Murr put the ball in the ten soon after but the effort was disallowed for offside against Murr. As Dringhouses tried desperately to stem the tide Rich Millett jabbed home the equaliser with one minute remaining.

Although Dringhouses were disappointed to have surrendered a three-goal lead it was the first time Pocklington had conceded more than three goals in a game for over two seasons.

A long clearance by 'keeper Simon Hammond found Luke Bilham who rounded his marker and lobbed the keeper to give Nestl Rowntree the half-time lead against Malton Bacon Factory.

The equaliser came ten minutes after the restart when Alex Strickland scored from a corner. Nestle Rowntree played well and looked to have earned a deserved point only for a defensive mix up three minutes from time allowing Wayne Hazell an easy tap in for a late Factory winner.

Huntington suffered their first defeat of the new campaign at Wigginton Grasshoppers despite taking the lead on the half-hour mark through Matthew Shelton. The home side netted twice after the break through Dean Kirkbride and Joe Woods to take the lead and the visitors squandered late chances to take a point.

Tate & Lyle Selby managed their first premier division win in style after two previous starts in which they have failed to score. Jon Ginty and Chris Harkin bagged two goals each and John Carter added a fifth as they thumped Wigginton Black Horse 5-1.

Kartiers notched their second win with a 3-1 victory over visitors Bishopthorpe thanks to goals from Neil Taylor, Martin Rowley and Andy Woodhall.
