AN elderly woman was knocked off her cycle by a mugger in York.
The attack happened as the 80-year-old woman was cycling along Carr Lane, Acomb, at about 4pm on Saturday.
The woman was described as "shaken but unhurt". Her handbag was stolen.
Police were called to the scene by a passer-by who discovered the woman on the ground.
A York Police spokesman said investigations were ongoing.
He said: "We got a report from a gentleman that a lady had been pushed from her bike and her handbag had been stolen.
"He found the lady in a state, having come off her bike."
