MADONNA will be heading for Dublin next month as part of a charity dash to the Irish city.

Or rather four North Yorkshire Madonna fans will be borrowing some of their heroine's most recognisable looks to take part in the Marie Curie Cancer Care Dublin Dash on September 19.

The team from Easingwold will be dressed as the chameleon-like singer as they try to get from their homes to the Wanderers Football Club in Dublin in 24 hours - without spending any money.

The Four Madonnas have persuaded several local firms to support them, including Park & Ride and City of York Sightseeing Tours.

Between them they have already raised more than £1,000. This is the second time the team have taken part.

Captain Rachel Bramma said: "It's all for such a great cause and we had a really good knees-up last year."

Marie Curie Cancer Care provides a network of nurses offering care for people with cancer, in their homes.

Paul Fryer, fundraising manager for North Yorkshire, said: "It's fantastic that the Four Madonnas have decided to join the Dash for another year and that they've raised so much money already.

"We'd like more Dublin Dashers from our area - it's not too late to enter a team."
