The battle at the top saw Cygnet 'A' defeat Cueball 'B' 6-3 with superior finishing power, but the club side remain three points clear.

Cygnet 'A' are closing in on the leading two teams after an almost faultless performance at Flag, whose Sharon Neads prevented the whitewash. Marie Caravana and Ann Bass (3 x 100s) starred for the winners.

Cueball 'C' team's Sue Turpin closed on 96 as visitors Clifton won by the narrowest of margins, while Jo Barklem combined with Jane Wright to secure Phoenix their match at Slipper.

Division two leaders Slip came from 3-0 down to win the remaining legs and eclipse Sun, while previous joint leaders Dringhouses were bowled out by Holgate's last pairing of Anne Smith-Carol Price.

Clifton remain in contention after a 6-3 win over Severus. Blacksmith took all the pairs when winning at Shepherd.

Tang Hall stay in pole position in division three after a good team performance against Shepherd .

Burton boosted their chances of honours with a stunning win against Leeman, whose Debbi Witts took the opener.

Mitre stay in the hunt after Freda Harman and Dorothy Barker secured victory. Vaults squandered a 3-0 lead as they lost at Puss, Mandy McNicholl-Suzanne Wentworth wrapping up the win.

Mount had the match in the bag as Michelle Kelly gave them a 5-1 lead at Britannia.

In division four, Lynne Humble starred in Old Ebor's 6-3 win against Woodman. Mount beat Acomb by the same score.
