I AM shocked by the actions of Nick Rampley-Sturgeon regarding buying Fulford Place and Heron Court (September 10).

I have issues with developers' preference of building flats to maximise profit, the consequences of which means the erosion of communities and the lack of family provision of housing in the city.

However, to create an "apart-hotel" will rob those in the affordable section of this development of the feeling of security, never knowing who their neighbours are, and will destroy any hope of community on this site.

I hope the executive member for planning and transport will act quickly to stop this development.

I said at the planning meeting the developers had no view on who would live here and only saw it as a total financial issue.

Where will our children and grandchildren live?

Tracey Simpson-Laing.

Labour spokesperson for planning and transport,
