TIRED legs and bruised egos led to a climactic extra-time 5-1 win for 10-man Selby Town in their FA Vase qualifier with Winsford Town.

A disappointing 90 minutes saw the Robins show little of their early season flair against the North West Counties side, with Winsford exhibiting all the professionalism but Selby the passion.

The Robins could have scored a hatful before captain Dominic Moyles' volley found the net on 72.

Winsford equalised with just five minutes to go when a defensive slip up by Adam Sadler let in Winsford's Steve Rowley.

The match sprung to life in extra time when a crunching tackle from Steve Ward saw the Selby striker red carded. Three minutes later Town took the lead when Stuart Lee found Tom Matthews in the box to fire home.

Two minutes later another long ball found substitute Andy Cygan who faltered at the far post but was tumbled to the floor for a penalty.

Left back Andy Hart was unflinching on the penalty spot, with Nigel Croad making it 4-1 after the break.

Winsford's best chance fell to substitute Les Miranda with a glancing header at the far post, but Selby wrapped it up with a fifth from substitute Matt Barnett with five minutes left on the clock.

HARROGATE Railway bit off more than they could Chow in the FA Vase.

They crashed 4-1 at Station View to Jarrow Roofing whose striker Paul Chow scored a hat-trick on his return to the side from injury.

He opened the scoring after 20 minutes before Railway levelled through Mark Delaney.

Chris McCabe restored Jarrow's lead with Chow adding two more in the second half.

Tadcaster Albion were also well beaten at home by opposition from the north east, Esh Winning. Goals by Gary Clark, Paul Bellamy and Simon Purrier gave the visitors a 3-0 win.
