AS I recall, George Hudson's grave is fairly prominent near the front door of Scrayingham church, not hidden in a corner as you imply ('The kings of controversy,' September 27).
Also, Howsham church was not built until after Hudson died. Until then, the villagers used to walk across the fields to Scrayingham for their weekly worship, so even if York didn't, at least his home village took George Hudson back at the end.
