YORK City chief Chris Brass could miss Saturday's visit of Cambridge United to Bootham Crescent.

Brass injured his elbow in Tuesday night's disappointing 2-0 defeat at Bury and was substituted midway through the second half.

With Brass having trouble clenching his fist, the City boss later had to attend hospital to have an 'X'-ray on the injury.

No break was revealed and the problem has eased over the last 36 hours. However, Brass is giving himself only a 50:50 chance of being fit to face United.

"Hopefully, I will be okay but I couldn't even grip my hand after the game," said the City player-manager.

"It will be touch and go though, and if I'm not 100 per cent I won't play."

At least Brass will have plenty of options for change should he be ruled out.

Stuart Wise is available after serving a three-match ban while Chris Smith, who came on for the City boss on Tuesday, has already declared his fitness after making his first appearance of the season.

Both could come in as a straight replacement for Brass.

Brass could also have options for change in attack.

The City chief has already indicated last term's top scorer Jon Parkin, who has appeared just once this season, will be added to Saturday's squad.

Aron Wilford, who missed the defeat at Gigg Lane with a groin problem, was also expected to return to training today.

Should he show no reaction Wilford too will be added to the squad.

Brass, meanwhile, was on a scouting mission last night, watching Sunderland reserves draw 1-1 with Middlesbrough reserves.

It is not known which player or players Brass was watching closely with Middlesbrough's Italian striker Massimo Maccarone scoring on his return to action after spending two months on the sidelines.
