THE Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain marks the start of the second week of events at the new Selby Arts Centre on Thursday (9th).
The autumn season began with last Saturday's stand-up show by BBC Radio 4 comedian Mark Steel, and throughout October, November and December there will be two or three performances a week at Selby Town Hall.
On Thursday, the Ukelele Orchestra will perform a selection of rock'n'roll, punk, jazz and classical favourites from a repertoire built up over almost 20 years. Works by Charlie Parker, the Sex Pistols and Johann Sebastian Bach could be rubbing shoulders from 7.30pm onwards.
